A British Council accredited private language school, A+ English is located in a beautiful historic building in a popular student area of Sheffield, close to the city centre and main university campus.
A+ English teaches general English language programmes to international students of all levels (Beginners to Advanced.) An intake interview on the first study day will determine what group students will be placed in. Teaching takes place in small classes of 8 to 12 students maximum ensuring individual care and support from tutors and lots of change for students to practice their English. All programmes include a range of social activities including a bi-weekly Saturday day-trip to places of interest including York, Scarborough, Leeds and the beautiful Peak District National Park which borders Sheffield. London is just over two hours away by train so it's easy to visit the capital from Sheffield.
A+ English offers language courses that are very flexible in that students can start their course at any time and change their course at any time. The General English Programme targets students of any level (Beginner to Advanced) and students can start their course at any time during the year and study for any length of time. General English Programme 3 targets students that have an Intermediate level of English or better. The course is delivered along the same structure as the General English Programmes 1 & 2 with the key difference that on Programme 3 students prepare for an English language exam such as the Preliminary English Test (PET), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), Certificate of Proficience in English (CPE) or IELTS. Tests can be taken at the end of the programme and will be arranged by the school.
A+ English also has a number of English Plus courses which can be organised in addition to any of the General English programmes. As long as there are a minimum of 6 students that share a common interest the school can help organise pretty much any special interest programme. Examples of English Plus courses that can be organised include English plus golf, outdoor pursuits, English heritage, film & literature, Theatre and Science & Technology.

A+ English recommends its students to stay with a host family during their studies to further practice their English and learn about British life and culture. Students that stay with a hostfamily will get their own private room on a half-board basis during the week and full board at weekends. Students and parents that would like to speak to a potential host family before they arrive in the UK are given the opportunity to do so.
Students that prefer to stay in a private student halls of residence can get assistance from Intercambio in booking a room in a private student halls of residence in the city centre.
* Executive Homestay provides students with a more spacious study bedroom and en-suite private bathroom.
* Student Halls of Residence are available over the summer period only (June - September)
