The English Language Centre, Brighton (ELCB) is located in Brighton & Hove, a popular seaside resort on England’s south coast. The school was founded in 1962 and is housed in a historical and listed Victorian villa. Over the years the ELTC has build an excellent reputation and is regarded as the best language school in Brighton through providing quality English language teaching to international students.
The school understands that every student is unique with different needs and goals and students can look forward to individual attention from experienced and qualified teaching staff to ensure students have the best time possible whilst studying at the ELCB. The school is dedicated to providing students with excellent courses in a warm, friendly and professional environment and class sizes are kept to a maximum of 12 students throughout the year ensuring personal attention by teaching staff for all students. Students feedback consistently show a very high degree of satisfaction. A wide variety of courses is available for adults and students can start a general English course on any Monday throughout the year. Every new student will be tested on their first day after which they will be placed in a class appropriate to their level of English. There will be regular progress checks throughout your studies and students will have regular tutorials with teaching staff to give general study advice.
The ELCB offers great facilities to its students. Students have access to free Wifi in the main buildings, a large student lounge with flat-screen TV and daily newspapers and a well-equipped kitchen. After lessons students have access to a well-equipped Study Centre that offers PC’s, internet access and Wifi, a virtual language laboratory and a large selection of books, videos, DVDs and cassettes.
Brighton & Hove is a vibrant cosmopolitan city and an ideal place for international students to live and study. The city has a well-established and large student community and has been a popular destination for English language students for many years due to its close proximity to London. Brighton boosts a great choice of entertainment and nightlife, the city is home to several cinemas, concert halls, theatres, museums and art galleries, offers great shopping and there are many festivals and special events organised throughout the year.
ELCB employs its own dedicated social programme and events organiser and students benefit from a full programme of afternoon and evening activities including sports, local visits, film evenings and quizzes. Throughout the year students can book a place on one of the many full-day weekend excursions to places such as London, Canterbury, Stratford Upon Avon, Windsor, Bath, Cambridge, Stonehenge and Oxford.
Brighton is a very 'young' city with more than 25% of the population being students.I'd recommend ELC because it's a professional school, it's well-located and overall there is a good environment for studying. Giampiero Bianchi - Italy
