Winchester School of English (WSE) is located in the historic and beautiful city of Winchester, one hour south-west from London. Opened in 1989 WSE is a friendly and small school, it's small class sizes ensure that each student can look forward to individual time and attention which makes that students progress quickly and with confidence. WSE operates a minimum age of 18 and as such is of particular interest to motivated adult students who will appreciate the time, care and individual attention given to them by the teaching staff. Its student body mainly consists of university students, professional and business people with an average age of 27.
WSE prides itself in being a small dedicated school that takes on a maximum of 40 students. As a result classes are taught in small groups of maximum 8 to 10 students by very experienced and qualified teaching staff. As the school is owned and run by the teaching staff each teacher takes particular care in ensuring each student has a happy time at the school and makes good progress during their studies. Students will note the special atmosphere at the school due to the personal involvement of its staff in all aspects of the school and student’s welfare. The school attracts students from a wide variety of backgrounds but ensures a good mix of nationalities by strictly controlling the number of students from each country. So far, more than 62 nationalities have been taught at the school. Students can join the school from 18 years of age and can be from an elementary to advanced background. However, WSE does not accept students that are beginners in English.
Students at WSE are given free access to the school's unique ‘WSE Online’ English language study programme. WSE Online will help students prepare for their course before they arrive, practise whilst they are studying at WSE, and maintain their English for one year after they’ve finished the course.

WSE makes use of accommodation provided by Winchester University."Well, what about my personal experience in the Winchester University student village? If you love to be free and independent at times you should choose to stay here because in the village you can do all the things you want to do. It is also a really good opportunity to make a lot of friends. The most important experience for me is that for the first time I tried and learned to cook!" Andrea Bandano Sericano, Italy
