MBA (Master of Business Administration)

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a very popular management programme that is offered at various universities and business schools across the UK.  

The MBA course is designed to equip managers with the skills needed to progress to senior managerial positions. MBA courses typically cover core areas such as accounting, marketing, human resource management, finance and business strategy and offer students also the choice of many electives in areas such as Corporate Social Responsibility or managing change and innovation. High quality MBA courses are accredited by the AMBA (Association for MBAs) or EQUIS (European Foundation for Management Development, EFMD.)

Apart from general MBA programmes there is also a range of specialisation MBAs such as the MBA in Human Resource Management, MBA in Marketing or the MBA in Finance.

Entry Requirements

To obtain a place on an MBA programme students usually require an undergraduate degree in a related subject with a strong CGPA from a good university. In addition most universities, offering accredited MBA programmes, require applicants to also have a minimum of at least 3 years of full-time work experience, preferably in a managerial role, as well as an excellent level of English. However, entry requirements do vary at different institutions.
