MEXICO AND GUATEMALA - STUDENT COUNSELLING & INTERVIEWS FOR ADMISSION
14 FEBRUARY AND 25 MARCH 2012 - PLEASE CLICK FOR MORE INFO
Overseas students that would like to secure direct admission onto a UK undergraduate or postgraduate university programme need to meet certain minimum academic requirements. Although most overseas students are successful in securing direct entry at many UK universities unfortunately sometimes students may not meet the entry critieria for different reasons such as:
In Mexico for instance, many students that have completed the Preparatoria are required to complete a Foundation programme first in order to secure admission into year 1 of a UK Bachelor's degree. Whatever the reason, students that require to bridge the gap between their education and a UK Degree or Masters course, can consider a Foundation Programme or Foundation Certificate (sometimes also called a bridging course) to secure admission onto a UK Bachelor's degree course and a Pre-Masters course to secure entry onto a UK postgraduate Masters course.
A number of universities in the UK offer these programmes which consist of a full-time study programme that can last from 6 months (fast-track) up to 1 year, depending on your academic background and level of English. When students successfully complete their Foundation programme they are guaranteed entry into the first year of an undergraduate Bachelor's course at the university to which the Foundation programme is linked. The same principle applies for the Pre-Masters programmes. Once a student successfully completes a Pre-Masters programme they are guaranteed admission onto a regular Postgraduate Taught Masters course at the institution to which the course is linked.
